Matt's been interested in racing and racing car engines since he first got his license. He began his pursuit of a racing career by working with Bob Bode on his Funny Car. He also worked with Glenn Mikres when he was the Crew Chief for the Kalitta Racing team. Matt's gained experience with high performance engines when he was a free lance top fuel mechanic. This experience includes head work, clutches and building racks (pistons and heads). When he wasn't out of town working on high performance racing cars, he worked at Machineworks for the previous owner. Matt decided to stop the out of town work when he and his wife had their first child. They have recently had a second child. Matt decided tostay at Machineworks when the opportunity to purchase Machineworks came up. Matt has the knowledge, experience and is able to do any type of automotive machining and assembly you need for your Hot Rod, Dragster, Funny Car or Family Car.
John says modestly he's "The Best Head Man In Tucson" because he's worked at it longer than anyone else in Tucson. We believe he's "The Best Head Man In Tucson" because he is! John has been working at the same job in the same place for more than 30 years. He began his career when the shop was called Moseman Auto Machine. Moseman sold the shop and the new owner re-named it Machineworks. John stayed on. John says 98% of his job is working with cylinder heads. He can machine any head foreign or domestic, even to include light diesels. John knows the business so well that he can do any automotive machining assignment he's called to do.
Kevin started out changing tires, doing front end alignmentsand working on brakes. 1978 he began working as a general mechanic. In 1985 he started to build engines. He worked as a general mechanic and continued to build engines. He worked at a high performance machine shop in Ohio about 3 years. A highlight for Kevin was when his shop worked on a Bush car that came in 17th on race day. Kevin moved to Tucson in 2007 and was hired by Arizona Crankshaft Now he's a part of our workforce. Kevin is a professional who can execute any automotive machine work your car needs.
